Google Street View started photographing some brazilian cities last week.
They announced their association with FIAT, that equiped dozens of cars with a camera dispositif to make the panoramas. I have seen no discussions nor debate around it.
I was planning to introduce some fiction on their documentation, following the idea proposed by the artists of a street with a view, and I talked to Enrique Diaz to stage something in Laranjeiras, Rua General Glicerio, where he lives with Mariana and lots of friends, artists, photographers, etc. He was not sure if he wanted to associate with Google, why should he? He said he has a feeling - and this is something difficult to translate - "de colocar azeitona na empada do google".
Why should we play for them? Are we going to be paid for that?
Well, before we could develop our considerations Fernanda Bruno got a hot contact telling that they're not interested in incorporating performances in their pages. They want to take pictures of the places "as they normally are".
But what is normallity? Is there any possibility of portraiting it? The act of portrating something means that something special is going on? What is special?
Well...
